Extraordinary Evenings

When the sun goes down, the stars shine over Dreams Huatulco. Evenings bring live shows, parties, dancing, beach movies and more adventures still to come.

Some things I read...

Huatulco has howler monkeys!!!

you will LOVE the beaches in Huatulco far more than PVs, guaranteed! Although that Nuevo/Vallarta Nayarit area has some gorgeous resorts, and the beaches are much nicer than in the city, Huatulco's bays and beaches will blow you away.

We have found that the snorkeling is better in Huatulco than the Mayan coast. There is many small bays in Huatulco that are well protect from the Pacific. Last year we saw stingrays, eaglerays turtles and many other types of tropical fish. There is some very good shore snorkeling that is just a small cab drive from the main resorts. Visibility and conditions do vary from day to day but we have had great luck in the Huatulco region.

Here is a video showing snorkeling, turtles and whales!

More than anything else it was the beaches that sold us on Huatulco. There are nine bays with thirty-seven beaches spread along 18 kilometers of rugged coastline. Several of the beaches are set into coves within the bays so that, unlike much of the Pacific coast, the waters are calm and safe for swimming and snorkeling. Some areas are accessible only by boat and many are virgin beaches with nothing but pristine sand and crystal clear water. Even the "commercial" beaches with palapa (palm thatch) restaurants, such as la Entrega, are rarely crowded. It was here, after seeing a giant sea turtle while snorkeling on the 650-foot coral reef, that our decision to live in Huatulco was confirmed.

"Bigfish"

The attraction here in Huatulco are the seven out nine excisting species of sea turtles, the amount of varios species of rays (Eagle Rays are very common here, for example) and the occasional presence of "big fish" and mammals like Nurse Sharks, White Tips, Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, Bottlenose Dolphins, Pacific Spotted Dolphins, Spinners and Commerson Dolphins, Orcas, Humpback Whales and Pilot Whales. We even saw a "lost" seal here once, which normally don´t come this far south. The Humpback Whales you can see migrating by the thousands, going south in December and January and back north around March.

White Water Rafting

Descending the river by water rafting is one of the most popular and fun activities when you visit Huatulco. The adventure starts when we pick you up at your hotel’s lobby and take you 13 miles up the mountains, 800 meters above sea level.

You can participate in this activity with your family, and if you are an expert choose the 4-hour Class III-IV with advanced difficulty levels and lots of emotion. We also have options for beginners where you’ll admire many kind of birds and beautiful scenery offered by the cliff sides.

The Waterfalls Adventure tour will take you to explore the exuberant Oaxaca area, a place renowned by coffee plantations as well as its extraordinary natural beauty settled in the middle of the mountains. Arriving this paradise is already an adventure that takes a little over than an hour and a half trip on comfortable A/C transportation to the Oaxaca Sierra, a wonderful spot where we’ll walk through lush forest, admiring local flora and fauna and visiting a “finca” a country house where you’ll taste typical Mexican food.
